Absolutely top notch from beginning to end. Al came out promptly after my call and gave a fair, honest assessment of the situation and an excellent quote. We got a much needed new furnace, AC, water heater, and thermostat. His installation team was competent, polite, and efficient – super nice guys. I got a tutorial on the new equipment at the end which was very helpful. Everything was cleaned up — I am so impressed with this company! I highly recommend them.

We couldn’t be happier with Lenz Heating & Cooling with our purchase and installation of a new Amana furnace and air conditioner. Every single Lenz employee (from Al Lenz himself, to the office staff and installation technicians) was courteous, helpful and pleasant. Any time I had a question it was answered directly and to my knowledge level (which is very basic). Not one person talked down to me or made me feel like my questions were dumb. Typically, I dread when someone comes in to my home to do service work — but not with the Lenz staff. They went beyond my expectations for courtesy and professionalism. As for pricing, I had three heating and cooling companies come assess my heating/cooling needs and write a bid to replace my furnace and air conditioner. Lenz beat the other two bids – even offering a higher grade of equipment and a labor/replacement part guarantees. It is my opinion Al Lenz is an honest man and implements honesty and integrity throughout his business.

Fast, reliable service. We called them and had an appointment within 24 hours! Other places were up to a 4 day wait. Al Lenz was our technician, he arrived right on time and got right to figuring out what was wrong with our furnace. He was respectful and honest and that is hard to find nowadays!

Our air conditioner had been out for a while and we couldn’t seem to find anybody who would repair/replace our unit for a price that wasn’t super inflated. On top of that they were booked for weeks in advance and couldn’t even think about squeezing us into their busy schedule. Lenz right away was the lowest price, they had rebates available and there was no extra costs or fees after the job was done. They said they could do a little extra work one day of the week and get in to see us right away. The Lenz installation team was stellar… They were quiet, respectful, easy to talk to, and they even wore booties on their feet to protect the floor. They ran into a few problems (which is reasonable because every house is different) and after a few calls they got the problem figured out and were out of our hair within hours of showing up. On time I might add. Everything was sealed up and they even wiped everything down after. I think this is all due to the fact that the company is family operated, and producing the highest quality work to make the family proud is the ultimate goal. There’s really no reason to go to anyone else. This is a loyal American business that I will recommend for years to come.

This is the first time I had used Lenz and I don’t think I could look back at this point! They fixed my broken AC unit quickly and were very open and up front about pricing, I never felt like I was getting a “sales pitch” at any point. They never tried to up-sell or look for more things that were wrong. We are in the midst of a heat wave right now in Des Moines and every company has been crazy booked! I called like 10 different companies and all of them were pushing me out 4 days! But Lenz put me on a waiting list and were able to squeeze me in. They fixed my problem quickly and my tech, Scott, was very willing to teach me about all of it. I would easily recommend them to anyone out there!

When we were suddenly having issues with our heat last Saturday morning (of course when we had a houseful of company staying with us!), my husband called Lenz Heating and Cooling. Scott arrived within two hours and quickly diagnosed the problem – that the filter simply needed to be replaced! Our heat was back up and running in no time, and the best part: Scott didn’t charge us for the service call! We will certainly turn to Lenz with all of our servicing and tune-up needs in the future. They have earned our trust that they will provide quality service for a reasonable price!

We thought our Furnace died on a Sunday night during this Zero degree weather we were having. Lenz responded with a service guy (Scott) to our house within 35 minutes. Thank goodness the furnace was fine. The thermostat is what died. Lenz/Scott were HONEST and told us all we needed was a new thermostat instead, they could’ve easily said the furnace was dead. It is over 13 years old and I would’ve believed them. This means a lot to me! I will call on you guys for a long time! Thank you!
